Palliative Care and some questions answered

As more an more people are living longer, and living with advanced and potentially life-limiting illnesses, awareness has increased about the many and varied needs which this group of people have. These include the need to receive good care and support at every stage of their disease. The local Planning and Implementaion Group have been involved in collaborative work to produce a comprehensive guide to Inverclyde Directory of Palliative Care Services which described the services which are available in the Inverclyde area and beyond to help those needs.

End of Life Assistance Bill  http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/bills/38-EndLifeAssist/b38s3-introd.pdf  A Bill to permit assistance to be given to persons who wish their lives to be ended; and for connected purposes. Current status of Bill: The Bill was introduced on 20 January 2010. The Bill is currently being considered at Stage 1.
