Dementia Friendly Tips

  • Keep a daily note book / calendar - encourage and support person living with dementia to update and use on a daily basis…. Important to write notes in calendars/notebooks to keep a log of how person with dementia is feeling.

  • Large face clock with light - When placed around the home, these clocks allow those living with dementia to see the time and date, thus reducing the confusion and anxiety associated with being unable to tell the time. 

Dementia Friendly Tips.

  •  Where possible, continue to do things together - work together in garden, go for a walk together. The person with dementia assists to dry dishes daily, empty dishwasher etc. - reduces isolation and creates a sense of purpose, routine and encourages independence.
