Living Well with Pain is all about helping people who live with persistent or long-term pain find ways to take back control of their lives.
Rather than focusing only on pain itself, we explore how to shrink the part of life that’s about pain — and grow the parts that bring meaning, joy, and connection.

Many people living with pain find themselves caught in a cycle of frustration, fatigue, and isolation. Living Well with Pain helps to break that cycle through a self-management approach — encouraging people to discover practical tools, new skills, and small steps that make a real difference day to day.

We believe that:

🌿 Welcome to the Living Well with Pain Café

A friendly, monthly drop-in café for anyone living with the impacts of long-term pain.
We offer a social, welcoming, and safe space where everyone can be heard, supported, and encouraged.

What to Expect

At our café, we focus on living well — not just managing pain.
Here’s what usually happens during our sessions:

  • 💬 Peer Connection – Meet others who truly understand what it’s like to live with pain. Share experiences, ideas, and encouragement.

  • 🧭 Learning & Growth – Each month, we explore one of the Ten Footsteps from the Live Well with Pain programme — learning new skills and finding practical ways to live better with pain.

  • 🪑 Gentle Movement – Try simple, seated or standing exercises to help build confidence and ease movement.

  • 🎙️ Guest Speakers – Occasionally, we invite inspiring speakers to share knowledge, tools, and stories.

  • ❤️ Self-Care Focus – We can’t take the pain away, but together we can learn ways to make it a smaller part of life — and grow the parts that bring us joy, purpose, and connection.

We don’t focus on what pain stops us from doing — we focus on what’s possible, what works, and how we can help each other move forward.
