Community Development & Engagement Officer
Are you passionate about empowering communities and driving real change?
We're seeking a dynamic, organised, and community-minded individual to lead impactful engagement and development initiatives across diverse and underrepresented groups. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a values-driven team and help amplify the voices of local residents—especially those from seldom-heard or marginalised communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Empower local voices by building knowledge and skills to influence change.
Plan and deliver high-quality engagement events, outreach activities, and tailored training sessions.
Work collaboratively with communities to gather insights, shape service design, and address inequalities.
Foster inclusive communication, both in-person and online, and build strong, trust-based partnerships across sectors.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience working directly with communities and engaging people from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong reporting and presentation abilities.
Able to work independently, manage a varied workload, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Confident with Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Zoom, and using social media for outreach.
Desirable:
A relevant qualification in Community Development.
Experience in delivering training or leading community-led change initiatives.
Please note: The role involves working with vulnerable adults (and occasionally children), so an enhanced DBS check is required.
